Flying probe test is one of nomal but necessary testing methord in PCB manufacturing before come to the final FQA and ship to customer .and there are two different test methord , the general Flysing probe test and Low-resistance flying testing.
1: The general testing process
1.1TPG typography
The operator will Open the * .IPC file, click the typesetting icon to typeset, set the cursor point for alignment, and save, What the
operator need to pay attention is the mirroring and rotation
1.2EMM Testing
1. Open Surp2006E-Kelvin software(Here in different company their might used different software), and Load the *.EMM document that was saved
2. After open the software then we come to process as below:
1.2.1 Select the material number program to be tested.
1.2.2 Setting the data of Parameters, the Open circuits(Continuity) the Short Circuits(Isolation)
1.2.3 Put in board to be test on the machine and then Alignment with Video Motion System
1.2.4 Start for testing.
Low-resistance flying Probe test
For low-resistance flying testingwe used another kind of text machine, but will not detail descript the process here.here we will
know what is the the purpose of it .
The low resistance test is a continuity test on the outer bare copper PCB board . after plating or the molding SET board, we need to check whether
the thickness of the hole copper meets the requirements. The test OK board goes directly to the next process. but if the copper thickness on the
hole is no enough , you must perform a full test on the entire batch of boards.
Notes :The Low-resistance flying probe test will no apply to any products but for those that have very high standard requirement on quality
for example the products used in militery area.
The analyzing of the Testing results.
During the analysis of the bare copper plate, carefully confirm and screen the resistance value on the measured paper of the test board, and select the
overprint corresponding to 3-5 resistance values from large to small Slicing. If the slice copper thickness is enough, then this batch of board is in good
condition, and no full measurement is required. If the thickness of the slice copper is not enough,a completely testing will be required until the thickness
of the slice copper is qualified. then the quality department can determine the acceptable board resistance value.
Notes:The quality department must carefully record the thickness of the hole copper each time.
In the analysis of the finished board, the resistance value of each hole is different due to the different networks in which it is located. The setting resistance
value is not a fixed value, so the data differential higher then 20% should be selected and then sliced for confirmation during the resistance value analysis.,
the rest are the same as bare board .
