Since 2006, China has surpassed Japan to become the world's largest PCB producer, with PCB output and output value ranking first in the world. In recent years, the global economy is undergoing a period of deep adjustment. The major economies of Europe, the United States, and Japan have significantly weakened the role of world economic growth, and their PCB market growth has been limited or even shrunk. It occupies half of the global PCB market. As the largest producer of PCB industry in the world, China has increased the proportion of global PCB industry output value from 31.18% in 2008 to 50.53% in 2017.
China's PCB industry has a healthy and stable domestic demand market and significant manufacturing advantages. PCB products are used as basic electronic components, and their industries are mostly built around supporting areas where downstream industries are concentrated. According to incomplete statistics from Zhanxin PCB Research Institute, the total number of PCB manufacturing enterprises in China reached 2372 in 2018 (the parent and subsidiary companies counted separately). It is estimated that there are actually more than 3000 PCB manufacturing enterprises in China, mainly distributed in the Areas with high concentration of electronic industry such as Bohai Rim, large demand for basic components, and good transport and water and electricity conditions.

According to the statistical analysis of the Zhanxin PCB Research Institute, the current PCB industry settlement in China is as follows: Among the 22 provinces and municipalities that lay out PCBs nationwide, Guangdong is still a large PCB production place, with a total of 1,437 enterprises. It accounts for 60.6%.
At least the provinces with more than 100 PCB manufacturing companies include Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Jiangxi. At least 341 enterprises in Jiangsu, accounting for 14.4% of the country; 108 enterprises in Zhejiang, accounting for 4.6% of the country; 103 enterprises in Jiangxi, accounting for 4.3% of the country.
The following 100 provinces of PCB manufacturing enterprises are mainly Shanghai (2.7%), Fujian (2.2%), Hubei (1.9%), Hunan (1.4%), Sichuan (1.1%), Beijing (1.1%) ), Anhui Province (1.0%), Hebei Province (1.0%); other PCB manufacturing enterprises have a cumulative proportion of 3.8% in fewer provinces.
At present, China's PCB manufacturing enterprises are concentrated in coastal cities such as the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta. Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Fujian and other coastal cities together account for 84.5% of the number of PCB manufacturing enterprises in the country. Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Anhui and other Midwest cities together accounted for 9.7% of the national PCB manufacturing enterprises.

Coastal areas still maintain their unique advantages in the PCB manufacturing industry due to early development, centralization of the semiconductor industry, and their initial support policies. With the recent relocation of semiconductor industries in coastal provinces and regions and the tightening of national environmental protection policies, the production areas of circuit board manufacturers in some coastal areas have gradually moved, and the central and western regions have become a hot spot for PCB manufacturing enterprises to migrate. However, industrial transfer is a long-term process. With the gradual improvement of the industrial cluster and the enhancement of the industrial base, the transfer of PCB production enterprises in coastal cities will accelerate.
At present, PCB is mainly used in the fields of communication electronics, consumer electronics and computers. Its demand accounts for nearly 70% of the overall PCB application market size. With the rapid evolution of next-generation information technologies such as cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things, mobile Internet, artificial intelligence, and other core technology systems, such as hardware, software, and services, the restructuring is accelerating. The application field will be further expanded and the market space is broad.
